For the Allendale-Fairfax High Tigers, the outcome was good for the team in their final rehearsal for the regular season.
Fueled by a swarming defense, the Tigers clawed the Gators of Estill High by a score of 12-0 Thursday in the Region 6A jamboree at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High.
Defensively, Terrell Williams and Deon Priester led a unit that wreaked havoc on the Gators' offense, allowing only 18 yards and one first down through two quarters of play.
Terrell Williams turned in a dominating performance with eight tackles, including three for losses, a sack and a forced fumble.
Priester also had a solid game with five tackles and two quarterback pressures.
The Tigers' offense also had their share of splash plays. On the teams' second play, Richard Garvin took the handoff left, broke two tackles and out-raced three defenders to the end zone to compete a 65-yard run.
On the Tigers' next possession, Garvin scored on a eight-yard run to cap a seven-play drive.
"Overall I was very pleased with our performance," Allendale-Fairfax High coach Eddie Ford said. "We hustled and got to the ball and did good job of controlling the line-of-scrimmage."
