Peeples named Honor Cadet at Fort Jackson

Barnwell High JROTC sent seven cadets to Fort Jackson to participate in the Junior ROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge June 14 thru 20.
The objectives of JCLC are: To provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment that is physically and mentally challenging, to provide adventure training normally not available on campus, to enable cadets to practice leadership in a challenging environment, to give cadets the opportunity to exercise living and interacting with their peers in a military setting, and to allow cadets to participate in citizenship-building exercises.
The training consisted of the following: High Ropes, Low Ropes, Rappelling from the 45-foot Victory Tower, Obstacle Course/Confidence course, Orienteering/land navigation, Canoeing and water safety, Military Stakes, and Organization Day (organized competitive athletic events).
Cadet James Peeples was recognized as an Honor Cadet during the graduation ceremony. Honor Cadet is awarded to the top cadet in each company.
