Delores Creech Fail (Barnwell)

A graveside funeral service for Delores Creech McDonald Fail, 88, of Barnwell, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Kyle Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of her sister-in-law, Myrtle Creech. Delores passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Born in Barnwell, she was a daughter of the late John Floyd Creech and Giulia Still Creech. She retired from the Barnwell School District #45, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Gideon’s International and Friendship Baptist Church. She was a devoted minister’s wife to her first husband, the late Reverend Kenneth McDonald, and was the widow of Sidney Fail. Aunt Delores was well known for her delicious fig preserves. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Delores’s devoted caregivers Regina Ashba and Tabitha Russell who took exceptional special care of her.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Myrtle Creech; brother-in-law, Mike Roach and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth McDonald; a son, Hugh McDonald; baby girl, McDonald; her second husband, Sidney Fail; brothers, Fulmer (Alice) Creech and Reverend Wilbur Creech; and her sister, Jannie Creech Roach.
