On Sunday, July 15, 2012, Sister Joe Lee Oestricker Berry left her earthly home to take flight with the angel of God to a land free from sickness, sorrow and pain.
We express our gratitude and praise to God for having shared with us her life.
She was the daughter of the late Dave Oestricker and Matilda Aiken Oestricker. She was born April 24, 1924 in Barnwell, S.C. She was educated in the Allendale County school system.
Sister Berry accepted Christ at an early age and joined the thankful Baptist Church. As an active member, she proudly served as Church Secretary, secretary of the Usher’s Board and Sunday school teacher.
She was married to the late Joe Berry and to this union three sons were born to cherish her memory.
Those left to cherish her memory: a sister, Louise Oestricker of Columbia, S.C.; two children, three grandchildren; an aunt, Gussie Wilson of Sumter, S.C.; two nieces and two nephews. Children, Jonathan (Minnie Bell) of Martin S.C.; five children, 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Evon (Annie) of Martin, S.C.; four children, 14 grandchildren. Leroy of Martin, S.C. A host of cousins and other loving friends.
A special thanks to devoted caregivers Rosetta Williams and Earline Jones.
