Religious events for Sept. 19 edition

Lighthouse Full Gospel Mission will host two preachers from Kenya for three weeks in September. The preachers are Benard Lusweti and Noah Mapesa. A two-day revival for women will be held Sept. 21 and 22 in Augusta, Ga., at the James Brown Arena (601 Seventh St.). Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham, will lead the revival. The event is titled "Just Give Me Jesus." Events begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Ned Branch Missionary Baptist Church will hold an education and health awareness class Sept. 22 beginning at 11 a.m. Topics to be discussed include: voting rights and responsibilities, making sure you are registered to vote and voting methods. Health topics include: diabetes, the signs and symptoms of diabetes and how to treat it.

St. Mary Baptist Church (474 Highway 125, Martin) will hold its 17th Homecoming Celebration on Sept. 22 and 23. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. there will be food, games, educational topics and gospel talent. Sunday at 11 a.m., Rev. Anthony Gadson of Waynesboro, Ga. will be the guest speaker.

Frost Branch Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 144h anniversary Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m. Speaker will be Rev. Phillip B. Thomas of Second Baptist Church in Barnwell.

Springfield Missionary Baptist Church (13225 HWY 278, Barnwell) will celebrate its 119th church anniversary Sept. 23. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m., and worship service at 11 a.m. Bishop Michael Staley will be the speaker. John Robins is pastor.

Born Again Church will hold a Missionary Day Sunday, Sept. 23 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Evangelist Nollie Scott.

Second Baptist Church (Barnwell) will have a Community Family Fun Day Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rev. Phillip Thomas is pastor.

Holighost Headquarters (Sunshine Road, Blackville) will hold a building fund gospel program Saturday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. The program is sponsored by the Traveling Stars of Blackville. The Lower Counties Ministerial Coalition will have its annual budget Saturday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. at the Blackville community center. Attendees are asked to make a $15 donation. Rev. Healing Springs will celebrate its 240th year with a revival beginning Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. Rev. Frederick will bring the morning message. A night session will follow at 7 p.m with Rev. David Allen bringing the message. Allen will speak Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., and Rev. Jamie Rodgers will speak Tuesday at 7 p.m. Homecoming will be Sunday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. Pastor Rev. New Harvest Outreach Ministries (corner of Lemon Road and Hwy. 278) will hold its annual fall festival Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, food, games, a silent auction and other events.

Floyd Hughes Sr. 32nd Pastor Appreciation Day Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Friday's speaker will be Rev. Joe Singleton, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Williston. Sunday, the Rev. Sanka Davis, pastor of Rome Baptist Church in Demark, will speak.

Choice Assemble Church of God (Williston) will hold a fall revival Oct. 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. each night. Prophetess Dr. Ladrettia Jones of Sardas Ga. will speak on Thursday and Friday. Prophetess Alberta Thompson will speak Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. to close the revival.
