Mrs. Mary Ellen Pryor Connor, 78, of Barnwell, widow of John Joseph Connor, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Connor was born Dec. 4, 1933, in Red Bank, N.J. She was the daughter of the late Luke and Mary Beckett Pryor.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Margie Pryor and Evelyn Lintott. She was a special-needs teacher's aide at Guinyard-Butler Middle School. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and president of the Wildwood Garden Club. She was a life member of the Fair Haven Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, Fair Haven, N.J.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Father James Dubrouillet officiating. Burial followed in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Holy Rosary was recited at 10 a.m., Sept. 28, at Mole Funeral Home, and visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 168 Madison St. Barnwell, S.C. 29812 or The Legion Ministries Soup Kitchen, 110 Franklin St., Barnwell, S.C. 29812.
Survivors include her son, Joseph L (Christine) Connor of Neptune, N.J.; daughters, Mary Beth (Wendy) Gibson of Barnwell, Mickey (Jon) Martin of Statesboro, Ga., Joan (Kevin) Wood of Virginia Beach, Va., Barbara (Tom) Halligan of Quaker Town, Pa., Evelyn (Tom) Kelly of Long Branch, N.J., Susan McDaniel of Long Branch, N.J., and Sister Judith Connor of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Mole Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
