Charges could still be pending against a Blackville-Hilda High School student accused of a bomb threat.
The unnamed male student was detained by law enforcement Dec. 17 after a teacher noticed a threatening message the student typed on a graphing calculator. It stated, "Whoever is reading this...there is a bomb in the school," stated a press release from Barnwell District 19.
No bomb or bomb making materials were found.
The student was placed in "a facility" for evaluation, said Barnwell County Sheriff Ed Carroll.
No charges have been filed as of press time, though Carroll said the student could be charged pending the evaluation's outcome.
