Denmark-Olar boys roll over Branchville

Paced by a steady offensive attack, the Denmark-Olar High boys varsity basketball team overwhelmed Branchville High by a score of 69-35 Friday night in Denmark.
The game was tightly contested in the opening quarter with Denmark-Olar High leading 14-9. In the second quarter, though, it was a difference story.
The Vikings sailed away, taking the sting out of the Yellowjackets with a 28-12 run. The deficit then got as large as 22 points, allowing the Vikings to go into halftime with a sizeable 42-21 advantage.
With the win, Denmark-Olar improves to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in region play.
Three members of the Vikings' starting lineup scored in double digits. Leading the way was Chansler Kirkland with 16 points, including eight in the third quarter. Kenneth Butler, who did most of his damage in the second quarter with 10 points, finished with 15 points. Moody provided 14 points on six of nine shooting from the field and two of two from the line.
Others scoring were Lavonte Deloach, who contributed seven points, including a three pointer, and William Smith with five points.
