WRS committed to future; asks for prayers
Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, management and employees of Williston Rescue Squad Inc., we would like to express our regrets to the citizens of Williston and Barnwell County.
The articles and interviews over the past week have brought unwanted attention to our organization as well as our community and county. The settlement with the Federal Government stemmed from an investigation related to claims for services occurring from 2008 to November 2011. The investigation involved the transport division; the 911 division was never part of the investigation. The Board of Directors took action to ensure that the areas identified by the investigation were addressed and corrective action taken. A new management team was put in place and procedures were established to evaluate patients requiring transport services to determine eligibility based on medical necessity.
The Rescue Squad is committed to continuing to provide the highest level of pre-hospital care and medical transport to the citizens of Barnwell County and surrounding counties. We ask for your support and prayers as we move forward.
Phil Clarke, Director
Williston Rescue Squad
