Elizabeth Rose Harley, 53, of 76 Tabby Lane, Barnwell, was arrested Feb. 11 on the charge of aggravated assault in the Feb. 11 shooting of an unnamed 48-year-old black male.
The victim was found in the living room in the residence laying on his back complaining of being shot in the back. When asked who shot him, the victim would not give law enforcement a name. The victim was transported to Georgia Regents University (formerly MCG) in Augusta, Ga.
While searching the residence, law enforcement found a "sawed off" 12-gage shotgun in the bedroom closet which was seized for destruction. A .22 caliber rifle was found under the mattress in the same bedroom.
Harley was released to the Barnwell County Detention Center.
