Arthur Allen "Buddy" Rodgers, 67, of Fort Pierce, Fla., passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Buddy was born in Fort Pierce on March 5, 1946. He was the son of the late Lewis and Amelia Ray Rodgers. He worked in construction as a home builder. He helped build Haisley Funeral Home along with other local establishments throughout Fort Pierce. He graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1965 and joined the United States Army. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Fort Pierce Shiners' and the Amara Clown Unit.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Kay Bailey Rodgers; son, Twain (Gay) Rodgers of Vero Beach, Fla.; daughter, Wesla Rodgers of Fort Pierce, Fla.; sister, Jimmie Ann (Ronald) Lott of Blackville; five grandchildren; aunts, Joan Williams of Govan, and Linda Ray of Barnwell; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Monday, August 5, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a Masonic service beginning at 6 p.m. at the Haisley Funeral Home.
