Michael B. Mullenix
Memorial service was held Feb. 21 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
Mr. Mullenix was born Oct. 3, 1947.He was the son of Glenn and Melba (Corley) Mullenix of Port Arthur, Texas. At age 4 the family moved to Barnwell, where he attended and graduated from Barnwell High School in 1965. He married Dianne Graham in 1967. He entered the Air Force for four years, serving in Vietnam. Returning to the states, he worked for a short time at E.I. Du Pont in Augusta, Ga. and then joined the Fond du Lac City Police Department where he worked his way through the ranks and retired at Captain of Patrol in 2001 after 31 years of service. He graduated from UW Oshkosh with a degree in Criminal Justice in June 1976. He also attended Northwestern University for a year pursuing management courses related to police work. After retirement, he went to work for Michels' Corporation (Brownsville, WI) until his death. Mike was an avid reader, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of South Hills Country Club. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn, his mother, Melba, brothers Glenn, and Larry, an infant son, Michael and his father-in-law, Chester Graham.
Survivors include two sons, Shaun (Kim) Mullenix of Fond du Lac and Cale Mullenix of Fond du Lac; one sister, Glenda Mullenix of Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Linda Ann Mullenix of Nederland, Texas; one brother-in-law, John (Carol) Graham of Fond du Lac; his mother-in-law, Lillian Graham of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren and many cousins, nephews, nieces and great friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike's name to the Cops for Kids Foundation.
