Mildred 'Millie' Rice Tuttle - Inman
Mildred “Millie” Rice Tuttle, 86, of Inman, wife of the late Eugene Hubert Tuttle, died Thursday, June 29, 2017.
Born in Elizabethton, TN, she was a daughter of the late John Oscar and Myrtle Dean Rice.
Millie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. She had been a member of Morganton Baptist Church in Morganton, Ga., where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and supported missions through her work with the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Millie was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, reading, watching the Atlanta Braves, and being a Girl Scout Leader.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee Patton; three sons, H. Marvin Huggins, Phillip D. Huggins and wife Debby, and John O. Huggins and wife Angie; ten grandchildren, Sefton Patton, Ashley Smith and husband David, Tricia Reeves and husband Jason, Beth McClary and husband Will, Jamie Fletcher and husband Will, Hayley Bodiford and husband John, Rana Huggins, Brooke Bobo, Reagan Lambert and husband Dalton, and Logan Huggins; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Dodd and husband Freddie, and Diane Lotts and husband Frank; and one brother, Ernest Rice and wife Nell. She was predeceased by two brothers, J.C. Rice and James Rice.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 198 Shady Grove Road, Murphy, N.C. Following the service family and friends will gather for lunch (Dutch treat) at the Chophouse, 130 Valley River Avenue, Murphy, N.C.
