Nina Mae Raysor (Aiken)

Mother Nina Mae Raysor, aka “Mae”, age 88, was born on October 23, 1928, in Blackville to the late Purvis and Lelar Lee.

Seeking God’s direction and guidance, she joined Faith Ministry in Denmark where she was Mother of the Church.

“Mae”, as she was affectionately known, will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed making crafts and designing shirts and hats. Black and white was her favorite color.

She was married to the late Charles H. Raysor for 67 years.

Besides her husband, parents, and grandparents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Edwards, and one brother, Dave Lee.

Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on August 5, 2017, at the Anchor Rehabilitation Center in Aiken.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, three daughters, Carrie (Tommie) Riley of Barnwell, Shirley (Wenzel) Copeland of College Park, Ga., and Minister Kaffie "Subrina" (Joseph) Broxton of Denmark; four grandchildren, Kenyata (Jackie) Raysor of Augusta, Ga., Nita (Mike) Funches of Denmark, Darkia (Roger) Wilson of Atlanta, Ga., and Kutrina Copeland of Atlanta, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Zakeem Dickerson, Naheem Dickerson, Chronica Raysor, Olivia Harvey, and Mila Raysor; four sisters, Dorothy English of Columbia, Mary Jenkins of St. Augustine, Fla., Eartha Jamison and Evonia (James) Sanders of Blackville; one brother, Nathaniel (Carol) Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; one godson, Anthony (Norma) Walker of Denmark; one uncle, Willie Lee McCreary of Washington, D.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Blackville with words of comfort by Rev. Jerry Montgomery. The burial followed in the Hope Memorial Park in Barnwell.
