Willie Gloster (Blackville)

Mr. Willie Gloster, 78, departed this life on August 7, 2017, at home with his family by his side.

Willie was born March 27, 1939, in Barnwell to the late Elmore and Ella Gloster.

Seeking God’s direction and guidance, he joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Blackville where he served as a member.

He attended the Macedonia/Pilgrim Rest School in Blackville and worked at Rheem Manufacturing and Dixie Narco in Williston as a welder for many years before retiring.

Willie was a loving and kind person and will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends.

He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Martha Gloster, for 58 years.

Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Heyward, Minnie Newton, Grace Lee Thomas, Alma Jean Ray, and Annie Berry; and two brothers, Cleveland and James Gloster.

Willie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of the home, Martha Gloster of Blackville; one daughter, Nadine G. Overton of Blackville; three grandchildren; one sister, Lille Bell Bradley of Blackville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.

Funeral service was held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Blackville with Rev. John Holston officiating.

B.F. Cave Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
