Omer Fred Carroll (Williston)
Funeral services for Omer Fred Carroll, 90, of Williston, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston; burial will be in the Williston Cemetery with U.S. Army Military honors accorded. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Southeastern Children’s Home P.O. Mr. Carroll passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.
Born in Kaw City, OK, he was a son of the late Fred Carroll and Della Maus Carroll and was married to the late Billie Jo Turner Carroll. He was a member of the Williston Church of Christ and retired as a maintenance machinist from E.I. DuPont. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea during World War II. He was an avid farmer and fisherman; he enjoyed tinkering and building things. He loved animals; especially his cats. He was a humble man who served the Lord and was always happiest when he was singing and whistling.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarie (Terrill) Tuten of Barnwell; two sons, Omer Paul (Teresa) Carroll of Aiken, B. Michael (Lisa) Carroll of Edmond, OK; daughter-in-law, Denise Carroll; grandchildren, Kerry (Kevin) Watson, George (Cecily) Carroll Jr., Neill (Mackenzie) Tuten, Brittany (Ben) Kalivas, Dillon Carroll, Jon (Chris) Carroll, Colin (Kelsey) Carroll, James (Molly) Carroll, Kristi (Neil) Arbaugh, Megan (Tony) Blake; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, George A. Carroll Sr.; sisters, Elsie Murdock, Iva Mullins, Mary Alice Majewski; brothers, Leon Carroll and John Carroll.
