Jamie Lee (Barnwell)
Home Going celebration for Mr. Jamie Lee of Barnwell was held on Saturday afternoon, December 30, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Main Street Church of Christ in Williston where Brother Dennis Pernell is pastor and officiating. Interment followed in the Blackville Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Friday December 29, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Jamie Lee, 45, was born on September 8, 1972 to Mrs. Shirley Ann Lee Hunter and the late Mr. Herbert Hicks in Bamberg County.
He was educated at Blackville-Hilda High School and graduated from the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School of Bamberg. He furthered his education at Voorhees College in Denmark. Jamie was baptized into Christ at the Main Street Church of Christ in Williston.
Jamie was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Arlene Lee.
“Joc Box”, as he was affectionately known, will be remembered as a caring person deeply devoted to his family. His memory will forever live in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
On Thursday morning, December 21, 2017, Mr. Jamie Lee made his final transition from this life into eternity at the Aiken Regional Medical Center of Aiken.
His life’s legacy will continue to live on through his devoted family including: his loving mother, Mrs. Shirley Ann Lee Hunter of Williston; two sisters: Ms. Tonya Lee Hartwell and Ms. Annissa Lee, both of Columbia; four brothers: Mr. Alexander Lee of Lithonia, Ga., Mr. Maurice (Tashena) Hunter of Columbia, Mr. Darrell Hunter of Kershaw County, and Mr. Herbert Hicks Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; a host of aunts and uncles, including one special aunt, Mrs. Jessie M. Davis of Barnwell, a special friend, Ms. Yvette Brown, seven nieces, 10 nephews, along with cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Miller’s Funeral Home (136 Kershaw Street SE, Aiken) was in charge of arrangements.
