Anita Q. Peeples, 91, of Barnwell, died Aug. 23, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Aug. 27 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Posey Belcher officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Peeples was the daughter of the late Dess and Kathleen Quattlebaum. She was the widow of James B. Peeples. She was the former owner of the Barnwell Jewelry Company and a member of the Barnwell First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Jean Ashley Quattlebaum, brother, Elliott Dess Quattlebaum and one sister, Jeanette Rhoad.
Survivors include her three children, Jim (Sue Gilliam) Peeples of Murrieta Calif., Kathleen Peeples (Roger W) Landblom of Fargo, ND; and Thomas C. (Pam Nein) Peeples of Barnwell; one brother, Veran K (Sara) Quattlebaum of Manning.; two sisters, Katherine Brabham, of Chapin and Martiel Starr of Gilbert; one sister-in-law, Claudette (Verne) Critz of Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons and many niece and nephews.
