Ann Barker Ness, 83 of Denmark, died Oct. 11, 2009.
Funeral service was held Oct. 13 at Bethel Park United Methodist Church, Denmark, with the Rev. Judy Hams officiating. Burial was in the Bamberg Memory Gardens. Mercer Funeral Home of Denmark was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Ness was born in Big Fork. She was the daughter of the late Robert Manley and Sara Thomas Barker. She taught school in South Carolina Public schools for many years. She was a member of Bethel Park United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Pierian Literary Society and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Barker Wilson.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Harold Jack Ness of Denmark; one son, Phillip Barker (Beth) Ness of Georgetown; one daughter, Constance Ann Ness of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Grace Barker Monroe; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
