Carroll William Jones, 88, of Olar, died Sept. 21, 2009.
Funeral service was held Sept. 24 at Calvary Fellowship Mennonite Church, Blackville.
Mr. Jones was born in Tyrrell County, N.C. He was the son of the late Ben B. and Alice Sawyer Jones. He was married to the late Clara Starnes Jones. He worked for the U.S. Government as a foreign fruit inspector. He formerly managed Brooker Feed and Seed, worked for Blunt and Harvey in Greenville as farm manager and enjoyed bee keeping and farming. He was a member of Calvary Fellowship Mennonite Church. He was predeceased by a son, Carroll Ervin Jones; and brothers, Vasco D. Jones and Benjamin A. Jones.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Gail Jones of Olar, one sister, Nannette (Horace) Cohoon of Hertford, N.C.; one brother, Max (Cil) Jones of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Barbara Jones; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
