Donald Robert Tripp

Donald Robert Tripp, 86, of Barnwell, died on June 14, 2009 at his residence.
Burial was in the McCoy - Tripp plot, Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, N.Y. Mole Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tripp was born Dec. 27, 1922 in Worcester N.Y. He was the son of the late Ellery C. and Beatrice Aline Zeh Tripp. He joined the army in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. He was a farmer and oiler on the D and H Railroad. Later he became a tool and dye maker and worked at Enterprise Aluminum Works until they moved to Massillon Ohio. He worked for the Chesbro Ponds Co. in Sherbune, N.Y. later transferring to to Oriskany Falls, N.Y. where he met and married his wife, Grace Maude Jackson. He later worked for Gladding-Keystone Co in Oneonta NY. He bought a tractor and trailer and went to work for McCormack Transportation in Schenectady. N.Y. hauling GE motors and transformers and later radioactive waste. He transferred to Barnwell working for Chem- Nuclear hauling radioactive waste all over the U.S. and Canada. He retired in 1989 and spent his retirement updating his home. He joined the 7 Day Adventist Church in 1996. He was predeceased by half sisters, Marion Trip McCoy and Margaret "Peggy" Tripp Vredenberg and a baby boy.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Gracie Tripp; several nieces and nephews, David McCoy of Otego NY, John McCoy of Franklin Mt., Oneonta NY, Vance Vredenburg of Franklin Mt., Oneonta NY, Sue Vredenburg Ochse of Porters Corners NY, Chris Vredenburg of Franklin Mt, Oneonta NY and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3300 Sunset Blvd. Suite 102, and Columbia SC. 29169.
