Floria Dell Staley-Bracey, 98, died June 4, 2010.
Funeral service was held June 11, 2010 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lees. Lebby Funeral Home of Denmark was in charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Bracey was born Dec. 30, 1911 in Bamberg. She was the daughter of the late Deacon Jesse and Mamie Walker-Staley. She traveled with her military husband all over the world for more than 20 years before retiring and returning to Denmark. She faithfully served in many auxiliaries at Mount Zion Baptist Church and also cared for her elderly father until his death.
Survivors include her children, Mary A. Miles and Willie C. Bracey of Denmark, two daughters-in-law; Carolyn Bracey of Denmark and Irene Bracey of Brooklyn, N.Y. A son-in-law, Jesse Bellamy of Phila. Pa., two brothers Kinzy Staley of Cope, and Alexander Staley of Phila., Pa. Two sisters-in-law, Lougina Staley of Brooklyn, Ny. And Zilerine Moore of Columbia. 14 grandchildren, three of whom were caregivers, Margaret (George) Lewis, Lance Bracey and Irene Robinson, 38 great grandchildren, 22 great, great grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
