Fritz Gleaton, 69, of Springfield died Feb. 1, 2012.
Funeral services were held 4 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Springfield First Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Y. Gantt and Rev. Andy Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 2 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, S.C.
Born in Orangeburg County, he was the son of Eloise Brown Gleaton Beatty and the late B.K. Gleaton and was married to the late Jane Williams Gleaton. He formerly worked at Dixie-Narco and loved working as a self-employed barber. He enjoyed cruising around Springfield, fellowshipping with friends, eating at Mary’s Country Kitchen and he had a passion for El Camino cars. He was a member of the National Guard and Springfield First Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Chesley (Caren) Gleaton of Denmark, Cody Gleaton and fiancée, Ashleigh Collins of St. Kitts, West Indies; grandchildren, Ches, Cope, Conner, Cam; sister, Nancy (Bobby Joe) Jackson of North.
