Helen S. Bouknight
Funeral service for Helen Sanders Bouknight, 88, were held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel with burial following in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Friday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bouknight, wife of the late Raymond A. “Sonny” Bouknight, died Thursday, January 4, 2012. Born in Barnwell, she was the daughter of the late John “E.J.” Sanders and Nelia Moody Sanders. She retired from civil service at Ft. Jackson as a supply manager. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Government Employees, the Gamecock Club and the Anglican Church of the Epiphany. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an accomplished pianist.
Surviving are her brother Gene W. Sanders and his wife, Florence, of Barnwell; brother-in-law, Joe Bouknight of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Becky Johnson and Mary Roberts, both of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
