Hilda Leader Blackhurst
Hilda Leader Blackhurst, 93, of Williston, died Feb. 2, 2010.
Funeral service was held Feb. 6 at Williston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cindy Fuller officiating.  Burial was at the Williston cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Blackhurst was born in Elkins, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Leader and Mary Niche Leader. She was married to the late Harold Foss “Bud” Blackhurst. She taught school in West Virginia. She retired after 38 years as an elementary school teacher with the Williston-Elko school district. She was a member of Generations Unlimited and volunteer for the retired senior volunteer program. She attended Elko Baptist Church, was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of the Williston Methodist women’s group. She was a member of the Williston Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter Mary Lou (Bruce) Tate of Walterboro; a son David (Shari) Blackhurst of Blackhawk, S.D.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Buddy and Harold Leader.
