James Earl "Jimmy" Steadman Jr.
James Earl "Jimmy" Steadman Jr., 66, of Williston, died Sept. 16, 2009.
Funeral service was held Sept. 19 at Williston First Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Dukes officiating. Burial was in the Williston Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Steadman was born in Saluda County. He was the son of the late James Earl and Virginia Goff Steadman Sr. He retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company after 35 years where he was a licensed insurance agent and underwriter. He served for 15 years as school board member of Williston School District No. 29. He was past president and member of Swamp and Hill Hunting Club, was a former member and driver for Williston Rescue Squad. He was a member of Aiken Electric Co-op Operation Round-up Trust Board. And was a former member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Williston, First Baptist Church of Norway and was a member of Springfield First Baptist church. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Alonzo Steadman.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joyce Brady Steadman of the home; three daughters, Janice (Robbie) Shipes, Jena (Allan) Mulligan, Jacqueline (Jose) Matias; one son, Justin Michael (Tiffany) Steadman Sr.; two sisters, Shelby S. (Joe Thad) Coleman Sr. and Deobrah S. (Lonnie Terry) Westbrook Sr.; two brothers, Robert Lee (Elaine Greene) Steadman and Van Norman (Barbara Cauthen) Steadman and nine grandchildren.
