James Hilton

Funeral services for James Haskell Hilton, 69, of Windsor, S.C. was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Windsor.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 3 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, S.C. James passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012.
Born in Dorchester, S.C., he was a son of the late Leroy Hilton, Sr. and Anna Laurie Mizell Hilton.  He had engineer degrees in HVAC and Electrical and owned/operated Hilton’s Heating and Air. He formerly served as music director at Spring Branch and Darien Baptist Churches for over 30 years. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Windsor. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. James was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Inabinet Hilton of the home; daughters, Alicia Jeanette Hilton, Jennifer Nicole Ellis; son, Kevin James (Gloria) Hilton all of Windsor; grandchildren, Calvin, Stella and Angel Hilton, James and Ivy Dyches and Richie Couch; sisters, Ruth H. Zimmerman, Francis Pennington, Linda Ballington, Patsy Willing; brothers, Leroy Hilton, Jr., Robert Victor Hilton and Frank Mizell; best friend, Rudy Cook.
