Janie Lou Brooker, 88, of Allendale, died Oct. 29, 2009 at the Allendale County Hospital.
Funeral service was held Nov. 5 at Simpson United Methodist Church, Allendale with burial in the All Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home of Allendale, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Brooker was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alice Dunbar Johnson. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church of Allendale and as a communion steward and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also an associate member of the Garden City Church of Christ of Orangeburg. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Quillie Brooker Jr.; sons, Timothy and Bonnie Brooker; granddaughter, Cieara Na'Sha Brooker and sisters, Odessa Brooker and Lillie Mitchell.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosa Mae Brooker of Columbia, Louise B. (Edward) Bing and Alice B. (Larry) Patterson, both of Allendale; five sons, Alfred (Linda) Brooker and Richard (Ruth) Brooker of Philadelphia, Pa., Olden (Roberta) Brooker of Columbia, Quillie (Myra) Brooker III of Orangeburg and Charles (Gladys) Brooker of Jacksonville, Fla.; a dear cousin, Rhumeller Bradley; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
