Jesse L. "J.L." Sheffield
Jesse L. "J.L." Sheffield, of Salley, died Oct. 8, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral service was held Oct. 12, at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston Burial was in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery in Sylvania, Ga. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Sheffield was born in Brooklet, Ga. He was the son of the late John L. Sheffield and Sally Spires Sheffield and was married to Mozelle Abbott Sheffield. He was a retired painter, a member of First Baptist Church of Sylvania, Ga., a Master Mason in Masonic Lodge # 154, West Columbia, member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 38, Wagener, and American Legion Post # 79 of West Columbia and a member of the SC Sheriff's Association. He was an army veteran, having served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Darlene S. (Wallace) Webb of Bushnell, Fla. and Margaret Ellen (Bobby) Farr of Wagener; one sister, Carnegia Haysman of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
