Joseph Bennett Sr., 81, of Orangeburg, died Jan. 26, 2010 at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.
Funeral service was held Jan. 30 at St. Paul Baptist Church, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Charcey Priester Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg Allendale Community Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Bennett was born Sept. 16, 1928 in Orangeburg County. He was the son of the late Frank and Daisy Bennett. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane Bennett and a daughter, Shirley Mae Bennett Sherrod.
Survivors include five children, Betty Strudwick and Joseph Bennett JR. of Allendale, Mary Goodson of Vance and Jackie and Ronald Bennett of Orangeburg; six brothers; one sister; five granddaughters; one great-granddaughter and one great-great-grandson and a host of relatives and friends.
