Lijah ‘Boo’ Johnson Jr.
Lijah “Boo”Johnson Jr., 49, of Blackville, died May 8, 2010 at the Barnwell County Hospital after a sudden illness.
Funeral service was held May 14 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville with the Revs. Allen Keitt and Moses Bryant, Bishop Dennis Pernell and Elder George S. Burckhalter officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 14, 1960 in Barnwell County. He was the son of Mary E. Johnson and the late Lijah Johnson Sr. He was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Blackville. He was an employee for Diverse Company.
Survivors include four daughters, Shantina, Keanna, Brandi and Shaquanna Johnson, all of Denmark; his mother of Blackville; six sisters, Eartha (Woodrow) Hammond, Linda Johnson and Wanda (Victor) Jones, all of Blackville, Shirley (Tony) Hill of Laurens, Shirley (Harry) Pierre-Mike of Boston, Mass. And Cindy Felder of Williston; six brothers, Larry Johnson, Tony Johnson and Gary Johnson, all of Blackville, Michael (Rosalyn) Johnson of Columbia, Curtis Johnson of Atlanta, Ga. and Shawn (Brandi) Johnson of Williston; a special friend, Tiffany Bradshaw of Blackville; three uncles; six aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
