Lloyd A. Ayer, 68, died June 15 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
A memorial service was held June 19. The Rev. Clark McCrary officiated. Thompson Funeral Home of Orangeburg was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ayer was born July 14, 1941. He was the son of the late Myles Ayer and the late Maude Esther Copeland Ayer. He was a retired South Carolina Highway Patrolman and also worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles. He was predeceased by his wife the late Miriam Baxley Ayer.
Survivors include two sons, Lee (Tracey Lloyd) Ayer of Surrey, England and Timothy Lee (Amy) Ayer of Orangeburg; three sisters, Lena Ayer Kittrell of the Canaan Community, Blanche Crider of Williston and Edna Weeks of Denmark and three grandchildren.
