Lue Eller Williams

Lue Eller Williams, 85, died June 13, 2009.
Funeral services were held June 19 at Lighthouse Seventh-day Adventist Church, Denmark, with Pastor Harold Thomas III officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park, Barnwell. Guinyard and Sons Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 20, 1923 in Blackville. She was the daughter of the late King and Annie Jones. She served as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service until her retirement. She was one of the founding members of the Lighthouse SDA Church in Denmark. She served as Sabbath school superintendent, investment secretary, vacation Bible school leader and deaconess. She also supported the church's music ministry.
Survivors include four daughters, Annie (Al) Brown of North Carolina, Barbara (Douglas) Williams-Morgan of Maryland, Janie Clark of New York and Lizzie (Chris) Cody of Georgia; one son, Vernard (Carla) Williams of California; one sister, Addie Baxter of South Carolina; six sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one god daughter, Loretta Reid; two godsons, Phillip Collins and Anthony Reed; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
