Luretha "Red" Copeland-Jennings, 74, of Jonesboro, Ga., formerly of Blackville, died Oct. 13, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Oct. 17 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lees, with the Revs. Freddie Wright, Ernest Sanders and James Johnson Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell. Dash's Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Copeland-Jennings was born Aug. 29, 1935 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Coy Copeland and Ida Mae Orr. She attended Zion Baptist and Red Oak Methodist Church. She was active in the Falling Water Home Owners Association and worked part-time in the Henry County School System. She was predeceased by three sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Carey Jennings; one son, Steve (Teresa) Copeland and grandchildren.
