Mildred Joyner Colquitt, 81, of Barnwell, died Dec. 29, 2009 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral service was held Jan. 1, 2010 at the Hilda First Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerry Williams and Gene Long officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Colquitt was born May 5, 1928 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Leatha Zissette Joyner. She was a member of the Hilda First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. C.W. Colquitt; a sister, Anna Fail, and a brother, Pat Joyner.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathie (Ricky) Messex and Arthurleen Waltz; one son, Mike Colquitt of Barnwell; two sisters Evelyn Price of Atlanta Ga. and Myrtle Larson of Olathe, Kan.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
