Nona Faye Adams Walker, 84, of Salley, died Aug. 29, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Aug. 31 at Salley Baptist Church. Burial was at the Salley-Oakview Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home, Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Walker was born in Salley. She was the daughter of the late W. L. and Mary Stillinger Adams, Sr. She was married to the late George Matthews Walker. She worked for many years at Salley Manufacturing Co. and retired from Wagener-Salley High School as an industrial sewing teacher. She was a member of Salley Baptist Church, where she was involved with many activities including Sunday School teacher. She was a life-member of the American Vocational Teachers Association, awarded Teacher of the Year, member of the ADK and Hen House Ministries. She was predeceased by a son, Lewis Edward Walker; sisters and brothers, Sue Lee, Lottie, Inez, Evelyn, Maxie, James and Woodrow; grandson, Lewis E. Walker, Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Jackie (Edward) Bolin of Neeses; one son, George M. "Matt" (Patsy) Walker, Jr. of Elgin; one brother, W.L. (Lorraine ) Adams, Jr. of Salley; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Walker of Springfield; 13 grandchildren, many great and great- great-grandchildren.
