Ocie Jackson Brooks
Ocie Jackson Brooks, 80, of Williston, died May 25, 2009 after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held May 29 at Winfield Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Wootten officiating. Burial was in the Campfield Memorial Baptist Church in Ellenboro, N. C. with the Rev. Scott Huffman officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Rutherford County, N. C. She was the daughter of the late William Edley and Selma Rollins Jackson. She was the widow of Joseph B. Brooks. She was a charter member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, WMU officer and added harmony to the church, through her loving nature and her melodious voice. She was a homemaker and served the public at The Grapevine dress shop. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Horton, Lillie Dolin and a brother, Roy Jackson.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph R. (Joann) Brooks of Bostic, N. C. and Normand G. (Linda) Brooks of Williston; one brother, Robert Jackson of Ellenboro, N. C.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eddie Yelton Building Fund, Winfield Heights Baptist Church, 315 Chester Street, Williston, SC 29853.
