Ralph Jennings Parler

Ralph Jennings Parler, 76, of Barnwell, died Jan. 25, 2010.
A memorial service was held Jan. 30 at Seven Pines Baptist Church, Snelling with the Revs. Billy Mew, David Turner and Mark Watford officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Parler was born in Norway. He was the son of the late Frank B. Parler and Bessie Davis Parler. He was married to the late Shirley Stillinger Parler. He served as a deacon at Seven Pines Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran and retired as resident engineer for S.C. Department of Highways and Public Transportation. He was also a self-employed land surveyor and barber. He was a member of the S.C. Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Jan Parler; sister, Melvenia Daniels; brothers, Alton Parler and Wilbur Parler.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheree (Paul) Moore and Debra (Stevie) Steen, all of Barnwell; two sons, Richard J. Parler of Charlotte, N.C. and Brian C. (Dyann) Parler of Barnwell; one sister, Mary Alice Kinard of Greenville; one brother, Gordon "Bud" Parler of Orangeburg; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
