Rufus Gillie Croft
Rufus Gillie Croft, 78, of Barnwell, died suddenly Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm May 26 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. George Johnson and Rev. Richard McWhite officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memorial Cemetery at the airport.
Mr. Croft was born in Barnwell County on July 5, 1931. He was a son of the late Gillie Lee and Annie Lou Still Croft. He was a retired merchant. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of the masons and a former member of the SC National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Black Croft, his daughter, Brenda (Roger) Williams, his brother, Duist (Patricia) Croft, his sisters, Sally (Everette) Carter, Adaree (Jack) Morris, Ann Jones, all of Barnwell; seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Terry Croft and a brother Andrew Croft.
