Sarah Aletta Coursey Hartzog, 87, of Blackville, died June 22, 2009.
Funeral service was held June 26 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Rev. Michael How officiating. A private family burial was held in the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hartzog was born in Greenwood. She was the daughter of the late Henry Grady and Sarah Lee Parkman Coursey. She was married to the late Elias Hutch Hartzog Jr. She was a classroom teacher having taught in the public school systems in Springfield and Blackville, was a member of Double Pond Baptist Church, past president and long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Blackville and a member of the Barnwell County museum Board.
Survivors include one son, Grady (Honor) Hartzog of Blackville.
