T. Grace Floyd, of Savannah, Ga., died Feb. 9, 2010.
Graveside service was held Feb. 12 in Blackville with the Rev. Timothy Foster of Independent Presbyterian Church officiating. Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, Savannah, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Floyd was born in Eastman, Georgia and raised in Blackville. She was the daughter of Eugene and Mabel Eva Ussery. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Burnis E. Ussery and Jack W. Ussery. She attended Wesleyan College where she studied nursing. She later served as Dr. Henry A. Brandt’s practice administrator and nursing assistant for more than twenty years.
She was married to Benjamin N. Floyd, Sr. for 58 years. She remained an active member of Calvary Baptist Temple for over fifty years.
Survivors three children, Benjamin N. (Linda) Floyd Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio, Shawn F. Tice of Savannah, Ga. and Michael K. (Teresa B.) Floyd of Marietta, Ga.; two nephews; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
