Wesley Odom, 82, of Barnwell, died Dec. 20, 2009 at the Laurel Bay Nursing Home in Williston.
Funeral service was held Dec. 27 at Jordan Baptist Church, Barnwell, with the Rev. Christopher Harley officiating. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Odom was born July 23, 1927. He was the son of the late Anna Sturgis Odom. He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church where he was active in the choir and other church committees. He was employed for several years as a truck driver in Jersey City. He was married to the late Pearline Glover Odom. He was predeceased by three children.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Odom of the home; one brother, John (Marie) Jenkins of Brunswick, Ga.; three stepdaughters, Geneva Daniels of New Jersey, N. J., Patricia Gibson of Barnwell and Michelle (John) Reed of Barnwell; two step sons, Vincent Gibson of Titusville, Fla., and Clyde Gibson of Barnwell; his mother-in-law, Easter Miller of Barnwell; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
