Willie "Peter-Ree" Jones Sr., 82, of Barnwell, died Feb. 14, 2010 at Azalea Woods Nursing Home, Aiken.
Funeral service was held Feb. 19 at the Lebby's Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, with the Rev. Harris T. Barker officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jones was born March 13, 1927 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Perry and Cora Jones. He was a member of the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Jones of Williston; four sons, Perry Jones and Willie (Wanda) Jones Jr. of Barnwell and Henry Jones and Nelson (Brenda) Jones of Columbia; three daughters, Louise Gibson of Williston, Janette Jones of Aiken and Diane (Joe) Byars of Williston; one brother, Tim Jones of Philadelphia, Pa.; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
