Patricia Reder Morris - Snelling

Patricia Reder Morris, 79, of Snelling, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Augusta University Medical Center.

Pat was born in Barberton, Ohio on March 13, 1938. She was a daughter of the late George and Mona McCafferity Reder. She was a homemaker and a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Grace Barnes - Williston

Grace Traylor (Winn) Barnes of Williston entered into rest on April 7, 2017.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Folk Funeral Home chapel, Williston with Dr. Beth Yarborough and Reverend Edgar Foster officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral at 2 p.m. with interment following at the Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 391, Williston, SC 29853.

Pallbearers will be Roger Winn Jr., Tedmond Melton, Tommy Burton, James Hewitt, Norman Duncan, and James New.

Henri Mae Grant - Allendale

Funeral services for Mrs. Henri Mae Grant, 64, of 364 Byrnes Street, Allendale, will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the St. Mark Baptist Church of Allendale where Rev. Daniel Latimer (Pastor – Presider), Rev. Christopher Holley (Eulogist), and Rev. William H. Burison (Her Pastor), will all officiate. Entombment will follow in the family plot at the Ervington Baptist Church Cemetery of Allendale.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte Spence Baxley - Barnwell

On April 2, 2017, heaven gained a new resident after Charlotte Spence Baxley lost her battle with Parkinson’s. She reaped her joy from helping others as anyone who knew her could attest.

The family appreciates the things that her friends have done for them and feel greatly blessed by their acts of kindness and visits. Also, Halcyon Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

Horace 'Al' Allen Jr. - Summerfield, Fla.

Horace F. “Al” Allen Jr. passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home in Summerfield, Florida.

Al was born in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York, on November 28, 1924 to Horace F. Allen Sr. and Grace Reppenhagen.

Less than six weeks after his 17th birthday, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the South Pacific for the duration of World War II earning two Purple Hearts. Right after the war, Al married Patricia “Peggy” Gorman on January 10, 1946. She passed away on March 3, 2010.

Martha Dare Thompson - Barnwell

Martha Dare Thompson, 74, of Barnwell, passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2017 in Greer in the arms of her loving family.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Mary, Lafayette, Russell, Harry, and Larry Satterthwaite, Emily Brown, and Dinah Creed. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Terry Daniel Thompson of Barnwell; her daughter, Wanda Thompson (Russell); her sisters, Louise Boles (Jim), Sarah Ulloth (Dana), Gloria Radke, Betty Klug (Russell); her brothers, Asa (Darlene) and Wilton (Sheila) Satterthwaite.

Roberta Darnell Gillam - Ehrhardt

Roberta Darnell Gillam, 64, of Ehrhardt, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be held at Ghents Branch Baptist Church, Wednesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. B. “ Sunny “Mooney and Rev. Bert Petty officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory, Barnwell.

Deirdure “Dee Dee” Bruner - Williston

Funeral services for Mary Lou Deirdure “Dee Dee” Bruner, 45, of Williston, will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverends Wendell Bruner, Larry McKee and Charles Bruner officiating. Burial will be in the Sunny Vista Church of God Cemetery, North. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williston Church of God, P.O. Box 147, Williston, SC 29853 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Dee Dee passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Chuck Cochran Jr. - Allendale

Chuck Edward Cochran Jr., 33, son of Chuck and Sheila Cochran, died Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Mr. Cochran was a native of Allendale and a United States Marine Corps Veteran, having served in Iraq with the 1st. Marine Division 3rd LAR (THE WOLF PACK). He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.A. Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Local 150 Pipefitters Union. Chuck also volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort.

Gloria B. Cooley - Blackville

Gloria Morris Boylston Cooley, 93, formerly of Blackville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Savannah, Ga.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverends Blake Boylston and Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Andrew B. Hutto - Williston

Funeral services for Andrew Bradford Hutto, 24, of Williston, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverend Steve Mattier officiating. Burial will be at the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Andrew passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Carl Allen - Rincon, Ga.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Allen, 67, of Rincon, Ga., formerly of Martin, were held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Allendale Community Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wendell Johnson officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Benjamin Franklin Johnson Sr. - Snelling

Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Johnson Sr., 78, of Snelling, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at University Hospital.

Ben was born in Hampton County on June 21, 1938 and was a son of the late Geddis and Ellen Keefe Johnson. He was a retired E&I mechanic with the Savannah River Site, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Barbara Croft - Blackville

Funeral services for Barbara Ann Brown Croft, 64, of Blackville, will be held 3 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverends Timmy Gunnells and Kenneth Dodson officiating. Burial will be in the Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston.

Barbara passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

Teddy Johnson - Barnwell

Mr. Teddy Johnson of Barnwell County passed away on March 5, 2017 at the age of 73. He was born on July 16, 1943 to the late Ethel Saxon and Eugene Johnson.

He attended school in Barnwell. He worked most of his life as a construction worker. He was married to Rutha Mae Jefferson.

Two brothers preceded him in death, Terry Johnson and Mike Jenkins Jr.
