Ralph Jenkins

Ralph Jenkins, died Aug. 3, 2009.
Funeral service was held Aug. 9 at Union Branch Baptist Church, Williston, with the Revs. James B. Moody and Barney Glover officiating. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Larry Creech

Larry Creech, 52, of Barnwell, died Aug. 3, 2009 at Richland Memorial.
Funeral service was held Aug. 10 at Guinyard and Son's Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park, Barnwell. Guinyard and Son's Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Creech was the son of the late Robert and Jessie Mae Creech.

James Morris

James Morris, 75, of Williston, died Aug. 2, 2009 at Laurel Baye of Williston.
Funeral service was held Aug. 6 at the Guinyard and Son's Funeral Home Chapel, Barnwell, with burial in the Hope Memorial Park.
Mr. Morris was the son of the late Willie and Daisy Morris. He served in the Air Force.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jackie Robert Ray Sr.

Jackie Robert Ray, Sr., 65, of Barnwell, died August 4, 2009 at his residence in Barnwell.
Funeral service was held Aug. 7 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Romie Martin and Timmy Gunnells officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ray was born on December 26, 1943 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Blease and Elizabeth Baxley Ray. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, retired mechanic with Webb Concrete. He was predeceased by a son Tim Ray and a brother James Ray.

William Bryan Nunn

William Bryan Nunn, Ph.D., Lt. Col., retired Florida National Guard, 81, of Springfield, died Aug. 4, 2009 in Charleston at a local hospital.
Memorial service was held Aug. 11 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Cocoa, Fla. Local funeral arrangements were held Aug. 7 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Springfield Cemetery, Springfield. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Frances Mae Blankenship

Frances Mae Blankenship, 63, of Barnwell, died Aug. 4, 2009.
Graveside service was held Aug. 6 at Barnwell County memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Farrell Ray officiating. Dyches Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Blankenship was born in Roanoke, Va. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Houston and Josephine Lucas Blankenship. She was predeceased by one sister, Marilyn Owens and one brother, Randy Blankenship.

Ethel May Wright Harrelson

Ethel May Wright Harrelson, 91, of Prosperity, died Aug. 3, 2009 at Agape Senior in Conway.
Funeral service was held Aug. 6 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel, Newberry. The Rev. Billy L. Mew, former pastor of Seven Pines Baptist Church in Snelling, officiated. Burial was in the Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Gladys Black Betsill

Gladys Black Betsill, 91, died on July 30, 2009.
A celebration of life was held on Aug. 8 with burial at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Barnwell. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Edward Franklin Woodward III

Edward Franklin Woodward III of Rock Hill, died July 29, 2009 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
Funeral service was held Aug. 1 at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Simpson officiating. Burial was in the Forest Hills Cemetery. Greene Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Karen Ann McCune Morris

Karen Ann McCune Morris, 59, of Williston, died July 28, 2009.
Funeral service was held July 30 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Williston Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Morris was born in Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Ralph McCune and Eloise Robertson McCune. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and worked at Milliken for a number of years.

Elizabeth Hutto Williams

Elizabeth Hutto Williams, 87, of Bamberg, died July 24, 2009 at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral service was held July 27 at the Cooner Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Price and Harry Warren officiating. Burial was in the South End Cemetery, Bamberg.
Mrs. Williams was the born Aug. 3, 1921 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Murray and Pauline Sanders Hutto. She was married to the late Willie Williams. She was affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene in Bamberg. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charlie, James and Tommy Hutto.

Dakotah Austin Tubbs

Dakotah Austin Tubbs, infant son of James Edward and Amanda Dreistadt Tubbs, of Blackville, died July 14, 2009.
Graveside service was held July 18 at the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Dakotah was born June 17, 2009 in Aiken.

Helen Wade Dantzler

Helen Wade Dantzler, 94, of Blackville, died April 24, 2009 in Valdosta, Ga.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at the Blackville Cemetery, with the Rev. David Hibberts officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston will be in charge of the arrangements.

James Boyd McElveen, 75, of New Zion died July 17, 2009 in a Florence hospital after an illness.

Mailon Benson Hutson

Mailon Benson Hutson, 56, of Blackville, July 5, 2009.
Funeral service was held July 10 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with burial in Barnwell Memorial Park by the airport. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Hutson was born in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late George Dewey Hutson and Lou Ellen Rowell Hutson. He was a self-employed truck driver and farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Mailon Benson Hutson, Jr.

David Theodore Young

David Theordore Young, 58, of Salley, died July 14, 2009.
Funeral service was held July 17 at Old Fashion Christian Ministries, Williston, with burial in the church cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Young was born in Parkersburg, W. Va. He was the son of Ira Clayton Young and the late Marjorie Provance Young. He was a professional truck driver for Atlantic Bulk Carrier of Richmond, Va. He was a member of Old Fashion Christian Ministries.

Henry Milledge Bodiford Jr.

Henry Milledge Bodiford Jr., 80, of Aiken, died July 15, 2009.
Funeral service was held July 16 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial was in the Blackville Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Bodiford was born in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Henry Milledge and America Grubbs Bodiford Sr. He was a army veteran, member and deacon of Blackville First Baptist Church, the "mayor" of Goat Island and retired from Magnolia Furniture in Williston.
