Antohny Nathaniel Wroten, 51, of Allendale, died May 1, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral service was held May 8 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Martin with burial in the church cemetery. Allendale Community Funeral Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wroten was born Nov. 6, 1957 in Fort Polk, La. He was the son of the late Willie Wroten and Bennie Wroten Harvey.

Hattie Mae Pontoon

Hattie Mae Pontoon, 84, of Blackville, died April 27, 2009 at the Barnwell County Hospital.
Funeral service was held May 6 at Frost Branch Baptist Church, Elko, with the Rev. Joseph Williams Sr. officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Guinyard and Sons Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Pontoon was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nick Osbourne.

Glenn R. Nichols

Dr. Glenn R. Nichols, 55, of Beech Island, died April 29, 2009.
Funeral service was held May 2 at Aiken Church of Christ with Moses Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bath. Cole Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. of Aiken was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Rouse Allamby

Dorothy Rouse Allamby, 66, of Cleveland, Ohio, died April 21, 2009.
Burial was at the Case Western Reserve Military Cemetery. E. F. Boyd Funeral Homes of Cleveland, Ohio, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Allamby was born Sept. 26, 1942 in Allendale County. She was the daughter of James and Irene Rouse Sr. She was predeceased by three siblings, Geneva Rouse Mealing, George Rouse and Rebecca Rouse Jones.

Breanna Shay Buckmon

Breanna Shay Buckmon, 19, of Barnwell, died April 25, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service was held May 2 at Guinyard-Butler Middle School with the Rev. Freddie L. Bush officiating. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park, Barnwell. Guinyard and Son's Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Breanna was the daughter of Tina Smith and Dennis Buckmon.

Virgie Rosier Keenan Clark

Virgie Rosier Keenan Clark, 89, of Hilda, died May 3, 2009 at the Bamberg County Hospital.
Funeral service was held today, May 6 at Ashleigh Baptist Church with the Revs. Bert Petty, Alfred Still and Bob Scruggs officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home of Denmark was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Clark was born June 2, 1919 in Dunbarton. She was the daughter of the late Gaston and Virgie M. Rosier. She was married to the late Lewis L. Keenan and Henry B. Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of Ashleigh Baptist Church.

Allen Franklin Fail

Allen Franklin Fail, 54, of Blackville, died April 28, 2009.
Funeral service was held May 1 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Barnwell County Memorial Park by the airport with the Chaplain Kenneth Freeman officiating. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Fail was born in Bamberg County. He was the son of the late John Wilton Fail and Eva Carroll Fail.

Secola Flowers Frazier

Secola Flowers Frazier, 87, of Allendale, died April 30, 2009 in Orangeburg.
Funeral service was held May 2 at Macedonia CME Church with burial in the Flowers Cemetery. Cave Funeral Services, Inc. of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Frazier was the son of the late Richard and Mae Scriven Flowers.
Survivors include children, Janie Flowers, Beatrice Myers and Latasha Myers; siblings, Bernice Graham, Edith Bates and Irene Flowers; 29 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Clarence Salley Sr., 87, of Blackville, died April 17, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral service was held April 23 at Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Barnwell. Burial was in the Hope Memorial Park of Barnwell. Washington Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Anton Scott, 45, died April 28,2009 at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Funeral service was held May 1 at the First Baptist Church of Govan, with the Revs. Gene Long and John V. Platt officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the Airport. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Scott was born March 25,1964 in Gettysburg, Pa. He was the son of Darlene Sanders Scott and the late Paul Mervin Scott Sr. He was an automobile mechanic.

John Frank Brant Sr., 78, of Ulmer, died April 26, 2009 at his residence.

Simplicio Legarreta "Papi" Colon, 82, of Barnwell, died April 8, 2009 a the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service was held with military honors, 30 years of service, April 10 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort. Burial was in the Beaufort Memorial Cemetery. McAlister Smith Funeral Home in Charleston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Colon was born in Lares, Pureto Rico. He was the son of the late Fermin Legarreta and the late Cruz Legarreta Colon of Lares, Pureto Rico. He retired from the Police department in San Juan, Pureto Rico after 30 years of service.

Robert Lee "Bob" Doyle

Robert Lee "Bob" Doyle, 47, of Windsor, died April 22, 2009 at his residence.

Memorial service was held April 27 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Doyle was born in Charleston. He was the son of the late James Doyle and Mary Rogers Doyle Fearn. He was a truck driver and worked construction.

Keith Thomas Hunt

Keith Thomas Hunt, 46, died in a boating accident, April 21,2009 at Lake Marion, Eutawville.

Funeral service with military honors was held April 27 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Rommie Martin and Ken Dodson officiating. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hunt was born in Sumter. He was the son of Alice Kelly Hunt Vest and the late Dallas Banks Hunt.

Pearl Jacobs

Pearl Jacobs, 77, of Barnwell, died April 22, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 26 at St. John Baptist Church, Barnwell, with the Rev. Audrey Lofton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jacobs was born March 29, 1932 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Ellis and Inez Hunter Jacobs Sr. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board and the choir.

Aaron Frank Kelly

Sgt. Aaron Frank Kelly, 60, U. S. Marine Corps, ret., died April 21, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 26 at Mercer Funeral Home in Denmark with the Rev. Ken Catoe officiating.

Sgt. Kelly was born June 29, 1948 in Sumter. He was the son of the late Jesse William and Janie Wilson Kelly. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the VFW and the New Turf Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Kelly of Norway; one sister, Alice Vest of Olar; and two brothers, Jimmy Kelly and Sam Kelly of Sumter.

Eddie L. Moore, Jr.

Eddie L. Moore, Jr., 32, of Columbia, died April 7, 2009 in Spring Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.

Funeral service was held April 16 at Miller Swamp Baptist Church, Fairfax with burial in the All Cemetery, Allendale. Allendale Community Funeral Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Moore was born Jan. 22, 1977 in Allendale County. He was the son of Albertha Moore of Allendale and the late Eddie Lee Moore.
