Robert Lee "Bob" Doyle

Robert Lee "Bob" Doyle, 47, of Windsor, died April 22, 2009 at his residence.

Memorial service was held April 27 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Doyle was born in Charleston. He was the son of the late James Doyle and Mary Rogers Doyle Fearn. He was a truck driver and worked construction.

Keith Thomas Hunt

Keith Thomas Hunt, 46, died in a boating accident, April 21,2009 at Lake Marion, Eutawville.

Funeral service with military honors was held April 27 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Rommie Martin and Ken Dodson officiating. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hunt was born in Sumter. He was the son of Alice Kelly Hunt Vest and the late Dallas Banks Hunt.

Pearl Jacobs

Pearl Jacobs, 77, of Barnwell, died April 22, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 26 at St. John Baptist Church, Barnwell, with the Rev. Audrey Lofton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jacobs was born March 29, 1932 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Ellis and Inez Hunter Jacobs Sr. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board and the choir.

Aaron Frank Kelly

Sgt. Aaron Frank Kelly, 60, U. S. Marine Corps, ret., died April 21, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 26 at Mercer Funeral Home in Denmark with the Rev. Ken Catoe officiating.

Sgt. Kelly was born June 29, 1948 in Sumter. He was the son of the late Jesse William and Janie Wilson Kelly. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the VFW and the New Turf Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Kelly of Norway; one sister, Alice Vest of Olar; and two brothers, Jimmy Kelly and Sam Kelly of Sumter.

Eddie L. Moore, Jr.

Eddie L. Moore, Jr., 32, of Columbia, died April 7, 2009 in Spring Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.

Funeral service was held April 16 at Miller Swamp Baptist Church, Fairfax with burial in the All Cemetery, Allendale. Allendale Community Funeral Home of Allendale was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Moore was born Jan. 22, 1977 in Allendale County. He was the son of Albertha Moore of Allendale and the late Eddie Lee Moore.

Doris Reed Rushton

Doris Reed Rushton, 86, of North Augusta, died April 17, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 19 at First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Drs. Randy Cooper and Gary C. Redding officiating. Burial was in the Pineview Memorial Park. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta was in charge of the arrangements.

Mickey Ezell Williams

Mickey Ezell Williams, 38, of Wagener, died April 20, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 24 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leroy Dodson, Kenneth Dodson and Jim Garrison officiating. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Harry Johannes Albert Behrens

Harry Johannes Albert Behrens, 71, of rural Mauston, Wis., died March 26, 2009 at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston, Wis.

A memorial mass of Christian burial was held April 4, 2009 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church near Castle Rock Lake of rural Mauston, Wis. with Father John Paul Lobo celebrating. A memorial service was held April 7 at the Williston Cemetery, Williston. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Behrens was born April 23, 1937 in Lueneburg, Germany. He was the son of the late Karl and Katharina (Bunz) Behrens.

Alease Myers Boynton

Alease Myers Boynton, 87, of Allendale, died April 2, 2009 at the Allendale County Hospital, Fairfax.

Funeral service was held April 7 at Miller Swamp Baptist Church with burial in the Hoover Cemetery. Cave Funeral Services, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Boynton was the daughter of the late Simmie and Maggie Ayers Myers. She was a member of Miller Swamp Baptist Church, the usher board and the missionary society and a member of Fidelity Chapter No. 40 OES and a retired school teacher of the Allendale County Schools.

Roberta "Sis" Walker Brown

Roberta "Sis" Walker Brown, 49, of Blackville, died April 2, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Funeral service was held April 8 at Frost Branch Baptist Church, Elko, with the Revs. Joseph Williams and Steven Berry and Minister Joseph Jackson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Green's Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.

William Henry Chaney

William Henry Chaney, 62, of Allendale, died March 30, 2009 at the Allendale County Hospital, Fairfax.

Funeral service was held April 6 at Faith in Prayer Ministries, Fairfax with burial in the Zion Branch Cemetery. Cave Funeral Services, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Chaney was the son of the late Isreal and Nancy Benton Chaney.

Survivors include his siblings, Sarah Brant, Dorothy Paul, Johnnie Mae Chaney, Evelyn Jenkins, Moses, Thomas and James Chaney.

Aelise Klintworth Hughes

Aelise Klintworth Hughes, 87, died April 3, 2009 at the Barnwell County Nursing Home.

Graveside service was held on April 8 in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens Cemetery on Reynolds Road with the Revs. Joey McDonald and Larry Hutto officiating. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert "Bob" James Rea

Robert "Bob" James Rea, Jr., 71, of Williston, died April 02, 2009.

A memorial gathering was held April 5 at the Williston Cemetery. Folk Funeral Home of Williston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Rea was born in Winchester, Va. He was the son of the late Robert James Rea and Fannie K. Smith Rea , Sr. He was in the trucking industry having retired with as Director of Maintenance with Bunch Transport, Charleston and Teamster Member of Local #38 in VA. He was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion in Goose Creek, S.C.

Ulysses Berry Still

Ulysses Berry Still, 89, of Barnwell, died March 30, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral service was held April 2 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Burnette, the Revs. Posey Belcher, Earl Jackson and Romie Martin officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Still was born on Dec. 11, 1919 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Berry and Arrie Grubbs Still.

Hazel Guthrie Taylor

Hazel Guthrie Taylor, 87, died April 3, 2009 at the Laurel Baye Nursing Center.

Funeral service was held April 5 at the First Baptist Church of Barnwell with Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport.

David L. Thompson

David L. Thompson, 73, of Beverly Hills, Fla., died March 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wilder Funeral Home of Homosassa, Fla. was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Thompson as born April 6, 1935 in West Va. He was the son of the late Dennis and Helen Thompson. He resided in Connecticut where he built a career in management with linen service companies. He was also chairperson and president for several years with the local Lions Club. In Florida, he worked part time at Twisted Oaks. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Geraldine.

Grace Valerie Towne

Grace Valerie Towne, died April 3, 2009.

Funeral service was held April 6 at Citadel Square Baptist Church with burial in the Live Oak Cemetery. J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, Charleston was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Towne was born July 26, 1919 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of Franklin McCoy and Bertha Mae Still Miles. She faithfully taught Sunday school for many years. She was a past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star Loyalty Chapter No. 136.

David Frye

David Frye, 56, of Barnwell, died March 18, 2009 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

A memorial service will be held March 28 at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington, W. Va. with the Rev. Paul Russell officiating.

Mr. Frye was a native of Huntington, W. Va. He was the son of Ruth Frye and the late Harmon Frye. He was a mechanical maintenance planner with Kronotex USA in Barnwell. He was a member of the Palm Coast United Methodist Church in Palm Coast, Fla. He was predeceased by a brother, Harmon Frye Jr.

David Briggs Grubbs Sr.

David Briggs "Doc" Grubbs Sr., 89, died March 14, 2009 at the Barnwell County Hospital.

Funeral service was held March 18 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Posey Belcher and Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating. Burial was in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd.Mole Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Fred Edward Wallace

Fred Edward Wallace, 69, died March 18, 2009 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Green's Funeral Home of Blackville was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wallace was born July 28, 1939 in Barnwell County. He was the son of the late Elizabeth McClasing and Earl McClasing. He was married to the late Bobbie Felder Wallace. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Betty Raysor.
