Elizabeth "Betty" Haskell - Aiken

Elizabeth B. “Betty” Haskell, 81, passed away July 25, 2017 at her home in Aiken.

Betty was born on January 20, 1936 in Mobile, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Lundy Bastian.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald Thomas Hill - Barnwell

Gerald Thomas Hill, 91, of Barnwell, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 5, 2017.

Mr. Hill was born on August 3, 1926 in Royston, Georgia. He was a son of the late Paul and Vallie Scarboro Hill. He was a navy veteran of WWII where he served on the USS Walsh and retired from the Savannah River Plant, Health Physics Department. He was a hardworking man of many talents, an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Barnwell First Baptist Church.

Charles Williams

Funeral services for the late Mr. Charles Williams were held on Thursday, August 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lees, South Carolina. Officiating ministers were Rev. C. A. Moses, Rev. Dr. Herman Wallace, Rev. Anthony Corley and Rev. Floyd Hughes. Interment followed immediately at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell.

Mr. Charles Edward Williams was born on June 27, 1953. He was the son of the late Mr. Carl Williams Sr. and the late Mrs. Zelma Reed Williams.

Edward "Eddie" Dath Jr. - Allendale

Mr. Edward E. “Eddie” Dath Jr., 59, of Allendale, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

Mr. Dath was the son of the late Edward E. and Dorothy Andrews Dath; the father of Mallory Ray (Brandon) and Jennaveve Dath; he was the grandfather of Jayden, Adrian Morrison, and Nathan William and Kaleb Stogner; the brother of Doreen Dath. He was predeceased by one brother, William “Bill” Dath.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, and weekends at the Savannah River.

Ashley Ryan Gibson - Williston

A Celebration of Life Service for Ashley Ryan Gibson 35, of Williston, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverend John O’Cain officiating. Burial will be at the Rocky Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Salley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday and other times at the home of her mother in Williston.

Rebecca Peeples Chess - Allendale

Rebecca Peeples Chess, age 90, was born on May 31, 1927, in Allendale to the late Willie and Choicey Graham Peeples. Rebecca was the sibling of 14 brothers and sisters. She was reared and fostered by a community known to many as “Best Plantation”, where she was respectful, and honored both God and her parents all the days of their lives.

Annie Bell Sanders - Barnwell

Trustee Annie Bell Sanders, aka “Nora”, age 75, was born on January 7, 1942, in Allendale to the late Leroy Patterson and the late Martha Boynton.

Seeking God’s direction and guidance at an early age, she joined the Rosemary Baptist Church in Barnwell, where she served faithfully as a Trustee for 25 years. On October 4, 2016, she became an honorary Trustee. She received her education at the Butler School in Barnwell.

Rev. Reginal A. Hill - Laurens

Rev. Reginal A. Hill passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2017, at his home in Laurens following a long, valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was born November 6, 1928, the son of the late Joseph Allen Hill Sr. and Quilla Amelia Still of Barnwell County. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas and Jack; sister, Thelma, and half-brother, Charles.

Levander Graham - Allendale

Funeral services for Levander Graham were held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Miller Swamp Baptist Church with Reverend Angelon Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Levander Graham was born on April 30, 1943 in Allendale County to Idella Kearse and Ernest Graham Sr. He passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Allendale County Hospital.

Leighton Elkins - Blackville

Funeral services for MSG (RET) Leighton Corey Elkins, 90, of Blackville, will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Ghents Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Sunny Mooney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with U.S. military honors accorded. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 28 at Folk Funeral Home, Denmark. Carolyn S. Neal - Barnwell

Mrs. Carolyn S. Neal, 67, of 872 Patterson Mill Road, Barnwell, died on July 15, 2017 in Columbia.

She was born on July 27, 1949 to Mrs. Dorothy Spells and the late Robert Sanders.

Services were held on July 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Jordan Baptist Church in Barnwell. Interment followed at Jordan Baptist Church Cemetery in Barnwell. Informal visitation was held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guinyard and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell.

William Martin Meadows II - Barnwell

Mr. William Martin Meadows II (Coach Meadows), 71, of Barnwell, died on July 22, 2017 at his home at 150 Ivy Lane.

He was born on May 11, 1946 to the late Milton Beethoven and Julia Louise Meadows.

A memorial service was held on July 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Barnwell.

Freddie Morell III - Allendale

Mr. Freddie Morrell III, age 51, was born on July 23, 1965 to the late Thelma Charlton Morell and the late Freddie Morell II.

At an early age, seeking God’s direction and guidance, he joined Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Gifford where he served as a member.

Freddie received his education in the public school system of Allendale.

He worked as a truck driver for Little Red Logging Company of Allendale and Helena Chemical Company of Fairfax.

Raymond Larry Belger - Allendale

Raymond Larry Belger, age 70, of Allendale, the husband of Judy Herndon Belger died Saturday, July 22, 2017.

Mr. Belger was a son of the late Raymond A. and Marjorie Matthews Belger Jr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the S.C. National Guard as SFC with the 163 Support Bat. Larry enjoyed coaching and coached the Allendale Academy football team for many years and was a former deacon and member of Allendale First Baptist Church.

Earnestine Graham - Allendale

Funeral services for Mrs. Earnestine Graham, 78, of 3414 Concord Church Road, Allendale, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Revelation Ministries with Reverend Virgin Johnson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Swamp Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sister Earnestine Williams Graham was born December 2, 1938 in Allendale County to the late Rosa Lee Garvin Williams and O.C. Williams Sr. She was called to glory from labor to reward on July 19, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Augusta, Georgia.

Carolyn P. Hall - Springfield

Funeral services for Carolyn Poole Hall, 95, of Springfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Springfield with the Reverends Henry Cooper and Jared Pemper officiating. Burial will follow in The Salley Oakview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. The family has asked that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 368, Springfield, S.C. 29146.

Carolyn passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
