Wilmon Bing Jr. - Williston

Mr. Wilmon Bing Jr. was born July 31, 1950 to the late Wilmon Bing Sr. and Blandena Barton Bing. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 3:50 p.m. at Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Wilmon will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at noon at Second Baptist Church of Barnwell with Rev. Phillip Thomas as the presiding official and Rev. Phinice Young as eulogist. Committal, benediction and invaultment will follow at Hope Memorial Park in Barnwell.

David Carter - Barnwell

Our dearly beloved David Carter left this earthly domain on June 16, 2017.

The loss of this beautiful spirit will leave a tremendous void in the lives of all those that knew and loved him. David was a jovial, loving, energetic, comedic and entertaining spirit. His laughter was contagious. His genuine love for family was a trait that all admired.

David Carter was born to Deacon Stephen M. and Mrs. Carrietta W. Carter on July 9, 1935. He was the 4th oldest of their 12 children.

Patricia Walter Stressman - Barnwell

Patricia Walter Stressman, 74, of Barnwell, went to be with her Lord on June 20, 2017. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Barnwell, with Rev. Keith Richardson officiating. She was the daughter of the late Joseph P. Walter and Anne Urlich. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Barnwell. She loved to cook and collect recipes and had a love for big band music and playing with her dogs, Ceasar and Kimber. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.

Stanley Philip 'Stan' Ray - Barnwell

Stanley Philip “Stan” Ray, 48, of Barnwell, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from a swimming accident on the Savannah River.

Born in Barnwell on Oct. 21, 1968, he was a son of Farrell T. Ray Sr. and Betty Grubbs Ray. He was a self-employed recycler and a member of Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mole Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Suzanne Colette Wise - Lexington

Suzanne Colette Wise, 51, of Lexington, was granted her angel wings on June 16, 2017. She left this world to be with our Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

Lottie Mae Hammonds - Barnwell

Mrs. Lottie Mae Hammonds, the daughter of the late Betty L. Barfield and the late Burnell Brown, was born on July 29, 1947 in Barnwell County. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Lottie Mae became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served as President of the Usher Board. She was educated in the public schools of Barnwell County and graduated from Butler High School.

Rachel Kennedy Saunders - Hilda

Rachel Kennedy Saunders, 87, of Hilda, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Rachel was born on September 20, 1929 in Barnwell County. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin William and Lilly Kennedy. She was a retired employee of the Barnwell Co. Hospital. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and loving nature. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister.

Sheri Lyn Stanley Stone - Barnwell

Sheri Lyn Stanley Stone, 49, of Barnwell, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017 surrounded by her family in the Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Sheri was born on December 9, 1967 in Canton, Ohio. She was a daughter of Marvin Stanley and the late Mary Pelfrey. She was a waitress at the Huddle House restaurant in Barnwell where she had many friends. She was a loving mother, daughter and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Willie Pope - Barnwell

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91: 1-2

Mr. Willie Pope, 83, of Barnwell, was born on February 12, 1934 to the late Beatrice Trottie in Barnwell. Willie entered eternal rest on June 1, 2017.

Jimmy Ervan Elkins - Barnwell

Jimmy Ervan Elkins, 77, of Barnwell, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 5, 2017.

Jimmy was born in Bamberg County on December 5, 1939 and was a son of the late William and Mary Pender Elkins. He was a retired truck driver with Webb Concrete Co. He was a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved to play his guitar and visit with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Aura Gilma Mole - Barnwell

Aura Gilma Mole, 73, of Barnwell, passed away June 5, 2017 at Greenwood Self Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 10, at 11 am at Dyches Funeral Home chapel, Barnwell. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Dyches Funeral Home, Barnwell.

William Edward Holland - Allendale

William Edward Holland, age 58, of Allendale, died Friday, June 2, 2017 in a automobile accident.

Mr. Holland was a native of Allendale and a son of Dorothy Googe Holland and the late Bobby Wilson Holland Sr. Billy was a member of Mt. Arnon Baptist Church where he served his Lord by singing in the choir and was always willing to help when needed.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Mt. Arnon Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Long and Reverend Mike Catoe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Arnon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ellen Mounts - Barnwell

Ellen Mounts, 99, of Barnwell, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Mt. Lebanon Christian Church with the Rev. Ron Franklin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ellen Kent Lumsden was born on November 23, 1917, the fourth child of Julia and Carrie Young Lumsden in Ashland, Virginia where she spent her childhood.

Gary Eugene Dotson - Martin

Gary Eugene Dotson, 72, of Martin, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Dotson was a native of Hickman County, Tenn. and lived most of his life in Allendale County. He was a son of the late Johnnie T. and Ethel Askins Dotson. He was an electrician and member of Lower Three Runs Baptist Church. Gary enjoyed life, his many friends and especially loved his family.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Lower Three Runs Cemetery, Martin, with the Rev. Billy Mew and Rev. Fred Orr officiating.

David E. Marshman - Williston

David English Marshman, 78, of Williston, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, due to complications following a stroke.

Born February 28, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Clifford and Grace Marshman, Dave was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Mt. Beluah, Wisconsin, and moved to Canada upon the death of his parents. After graduating high school, Marshman enlisted in the United States Air Force on April 15, 1957. He served for over five years, with three years’ service overseas.

Pamela Diane Hair Johnson - Barnwell

Pamela Diane Hair Johnson, 48, of Barnwell, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Pamela was born on September 29, 1969 in Bamberg. She was a daughter of Aggie Ruth Still Hair and the late Harold Hair. She was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Forrest Larry Brown - Barnwell

Forrest Larry Brown passed away at his home in Barnwell on Memorial Day, 2017, a few weeks after his 93rd birthday.

He was born to Forest Stuart and Emma Bessinger Brown on May 7, 1924, in his beloved hometown of Barnwell. Larry was a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy in nearby Bamberg.

A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe.

After the war, he came back to the United States and attended Gupton-Jones School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee, where he received his degree in mortuary science.

Timothy P. Nein - Allendale

Timothy P. Nein, 64, died May 24, 2017 at his home in Allendale.

Tim was born January 29, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of the late Joan F. and Robert W. Nein.

He is survived by his daughters, Sommer (Joey) Morris, and Leigh (Mark) Laughlin; seven grandchildren; brothers, Robert W. Nein, II, John (Jan) Nein, Chris (Susan) Nein; sister, Pam (Tommy) Peeples; nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the Kline Baptist Church Social Hall for an informal gathering.

Pearlene Mole - Allendale

Funeral services for Mrs. Pearlene Mole, 76, of 209 Gum Street, Allendale, were held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Rizer Chapel United Methodist Church, Ehrhardt, with Reverend Stanley Ritter officiating. Burial followed in the New Bethel #5 Holiness Church Cemetery, Ruffin.

She was born Pearlene Mingo, to the late John Wesley Mingo and Annie Folk Mingo, on January 1, 1941 in Colleton County. She departed this earthly life on May 19, 2017 at the Colleton Regional Medical Center in Walterboro. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joshua.
