The Barnwell High boys varsity basketball team competed in the Aiken High School Holiday tournament Dec. 27-30.
The six-team field consisting of Allendale-Fairfax High and 4A teams Aiken High, Lower Richland High of Columbia along with Hephzibah High and Glenn Hills High of Augusta.
For the Warhorses, the holiday season wasn't kind to them on the hardwood as victory escaped the team in three outings in the tournament.
Barnwell High coach Michael Highsmith said the team played well despite the losses.
"We played some very tough teams with a lot of basketball history," Highsmith said.
"In all of our games, we started off well then we just fell off at the end. Overall I thought this was a great experience for our players. Playing this caliber of competition will help us down the stretch of the season."
